## How to get the Dell military discount

Dell says the military discount is valid only for purchases made directly on Dell.com, not at other retailers that sell Dell products.

1. Create or sign in to a Dell account on Dell.com.
2. Register for Dell Rewards (free).
3. Verify your military status with SheerID from the membership section of your account.
4. Shop while signed in. Dell applies the discount automatically to eligible products in your cart.

## Who qualifies

- Active-duty U.S. military members
- Veterans
- Retirees

Dell's military FAQ names active-duty members, veterans and retirees who complete SheerID verification. The same program also covers first responders and healthcare workers. Dell's page does not mention spouses or dependents.

Veterans without a military ID can prove status with VA's digital card: see [how to get a Veteran ID Card](https://www.getbasepass.com/guides/veteran-id-card).

## Exclusions and limits

- Up to two eligible products per transaction, and up to two transactions per year per eligible customer.
- Can be combined with select offers, but cannot be stacked with other Dell coupons.
- Some PCs, electronics, accessories, warranties, gift cards, clearance and limited-quantity deals are excluded.
- Valid only on Dell.com.

## Tips before you pay

- Dell says verification is usually almost instant. When SheerID asks for documents, review typically takes about 20 minutes in the U.S.
- If the discount doesn't show in your cart, check that the product isn't excluded and that you haven't used both of your two yearly transactions.
- SheerID handles verification problems. Dell sales handles purchase and discount problems.

## Good to know

Dell says the discount is up to 10% extra. The exact amount on each product shows in the cart, not on Dell's program page.
